The American National Red Cross is asking for your donation of  money, instead of donated items.   With money CASH, we can do more faster.

Over the years We (the Red Cross) have found, it takes more People and People Power, to manage, sort, and handle donated items, it delays services.

With money we can buy what is needed or here in the United States, the clients can buy what they need.  Donated items may have a need some times, in special cases, in large events such as Haiti, we need cash so we can buy in bulk.

The American National Red Cross is working with our International Red Cross and the Haiti Red Cross in our response.  The American Red Cross has had workers in Haiti working on programs and projects for years.  The ARC has had workers in Haiti working water projects, working on HIV / AIDS over years

The American Red Cross is not a government agency and all Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to the generosity of people like you. The value of your donation is increased by the fact that the ratio of volunteer Red Cross workers to paid staff is almost 36 to one. Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
